Minor Maintenance

Minor maintenance is first performed at 1 year or 10,000 miles, whichever comes first. After that initial service, it will be performed every 20,000 miles or two years. These services include:

  • Check the thickness of the brake pads
  • Change oil and replace the filter
  • Complete multi-point inspection
  • Reset service reminder indicator display
  • Check tire repair kit 

Standard Maintenance

Standard maintenance includes minor maintenance services, and is first performed at 2 years or 20,000 miles, whichever comes first, and continues at these intervals. Standard maintenance tasks include:

  • Inspect body/chassis for possible paint damage and corrosion
  • Check brake system for damage and leaks, the thickness of the brake pads, condition of brake hoses and the presence of the bleeder caps
  • Check the charging cable for damage (if present in the vehicle during inspection) (A7 55 TFSIe, A8 L 60 TFSIe, and Q5 55 TFSIe only)
  • Check the charging socket for contamination and damage (A7 55 TFSIe, A8 L 60 TFSIe, and Q5 55 TFSIe only)
  • Check connected box battery with Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in Guided Functions (A4 40 TFSI, A4 45 TFSI, S4, A4 allroad® 45 TFSI, A5 45 TFSI, S5, A6 45 TFSI, A6 55 TFSI, S6, A7 55 TFSI, A7 55 TFSIe, A8 L 55 TFSI, A8 L 60 TFSI, A8 L 60 TFSIe, S8 LWB, Q5 45 TFSI, Q5 55 TFSIe, SQ5, Q7 55 TFSI, Q8 55 TFSI)
  • Lubricate convertible top latch mechanism (A5 45 TFSI Cabriolet, S5 Cabriolet only)
  • Lubricate Door latch and Door hinge (including door stay)
  • Check high voltage cooling system coolant level according to ElsaPro (A7 55 TFSIe, A8 L 60 TFSIe, Q5 55 TFSIe only)
  • Check cooling system freeze protection and coolant level
  • Change engine oil and replace the filter
  • Inspect engine, transmission, final drive, steering system for leaks and damage (with front noise insulation removed)
  • Check exterior lighting function 
  • Check first aid kit (if equipped) 
  • Lubricate front flap lock (R8 Coupe, R8 Spyder only)
  • Check the fuel tank water drain according to ElsaPro (R8 Coupe, R8 Spyder only)
  • Adjust headlights 
  • Lubricate hood safety catch (A3 40 TFSI, A3 45 TFSI, S3, RS 3, R8 Coupe, and R8 Spyder only)
  • Check horn function
  • Check warning and indicator lights
  • Check all interior lights
  • Complete multi-point inspection 
  • Check oil fill area water drain according to ElsaPro (R8 Coupe, R8 Spyder only)
  • Check the plenum chamber and water drain valves for dirt. (A8 L all models, Q7 all models, and Q8 all models only)
  • Road test
  • Check the rollover protection when the convertible top is open (R8 Spyder only)
  • Check function and condition of safety belt, belt tongue, and latch
  • Reset service reminder indicator display
  • Check spare tire condition and tire pressure, adjust if necessary
  • Lubricate rear spoiler (if equipped) (TT, TTS, and TT RS models only)
  • Check function of the sunroof and panoramic sunroof systems (if equipped)
  • Check suspension and front and rear axle components 
  • Check tire condition, tire tread wear, and pressure. Check and record the tread depth and adjust pressure if necessary.
  • Check tire repair kit (if equipped) 
  • Inspect underbody for damage and leaks
  • Warning triangle and first aid kit (if equipped)
  • Add windshield and headlight washer fluid. Check adjustment and function
  • Check wiper blades condition and replace if necessary

Additional Maintenance Needs

Beyond the two above Audi service schedules, there are some additional maintenance needs that will need to be performed from time to time. These aspects of the Audi maintenance schedule can vary depending on your Audi model, but can include:

  • Changing fragrance cartridges (if equipped)
  • Change front differential fluid
  • Check the drainage system on the panoramic roof
  • Change quattro® Sport rear axle ATF & differential oil
  • Replace ribbed V-belt starter/generator drive and tensioner
  • Spark plug replacements
  • S-Tronic transmission fluid replacement
